Assessment Unit
At PR&TS Clinic, our Psychological Assessment Unit provides comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents to help parents understand their child’s learning abilities, emotional health, behavior, and overall development. Our team focuses on creating a supportive and child-friendly environment where each assessment is tailored to the child’s unique needs.
We work with concerns related to learning and school performance, including difficulties in reading, writing, mathematics, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and slow academic progress. Many children face challenges such as inconsistent performance, exam anxiety, or school refusal, and our assessments help identify the underlying reasons. We also conduct detailed evaluations for attention and behavioural concerns such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, and issues with impulse control or following routines. These assessments provide clarity for parents and help guide early and effective intervention.
Our unit also specializes in cognitive and IQ testing, which helps us understand a child’s memory, reasoning, attention, processing speed, and problem-solving abilities. These assessments are particularly helpful for identifying learning capacities, planning academic support, and evaluating giftedness. Alongside this, we assess emotional and social functioning, including anxiety, excessive fears, mood changes, anger outbursts, low confidence, social withdrawal, and peer-related difficulties. For adolescents, we offer a deeper understanding of personality patterns, emotional regulation, family relationships, coping styles, and social adjustment.
The assessment process begins with an in-depth parent intake session to gather developmental history, academic concerns, and behavioural observations. This is followed by age-appropriate child observation and standardized testing administered by qualified clinical psychologists. When necessary, teacher feedback is included to understand the child’s functioning in school settings. After scoring and analyzing all results, we prepare a clear and comprehensive report that highlights the child’s strengths, challenges, and diagnostic impressions where relevant. This report includes practical recommendations for home, school, and further intervention if required. A dedicated feedback session is then conducted with parents to explain the results, address their concerns, and guide them toward supportive strategies and next steps.
Parents choose PR&TS Clinic because of our professional expertise, evidence-based tools, and culturally sensitive approach. Our goal is to provide meaningful insights that help improve a child’s academic performance, emotional wellbeing, social adjustment, and overall development. If your child is struggling in school, having difficulty focusing, showing behavioural or emotional changes, facing developmental delays, or has been recommended for testing by a teacher or pediatrician, a psychological assessment can provide the clarity and guidance you need.
