Clinical Psychologist in Islamabad
PRTS Clinic is a clinical psychology practice in Islamabad led by Dr. Uzma Masroor, consultant clinical psychologist with 28 years of experience.
We provide evidence based therapy, formal psychological assessment, and professional training under one roof, through a female led clinical team, in English and Urdu, at G-8 Markaz, Bahria Enclave, and online.
Finding the Right Psychologist Should Not Be This Confusing
Every clinic calls itself the best, and every profile reads exactly the same.
You are not sure whether you need a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or just someone to talk to.
Degrees on a website tell you nothing about what the room will actually feel like.
You worry about running into someone you know in a waiting area.
You would prefer a female psychologist with real seniority, and finding one is harder than it should be.
You have already delayed this for months, and the delay has developed a weight of its own.
Psychologist vs Psychiatrist: Who Do You Actually Need?
| A clinical psychologist | A psychiatrist |
|---|---|
| Trained in clinical psychology; treats through structured therapy, skills, and behavior change | A medical doctor; treats primarily through medication |
| Conducts formal psychological assessment: IQ, ADHD, autism, learning, personality | Diagnoses and manages the medical side of psychiatric illness |
| Sessions are conversation and practice based, typically 45 to 60 minutes | Appointments are usually shorter and medication focused |
| The right first stop for stress, anxiety, low mood, child behavior, and relationship problems | The right first stop when symptoms are severe and need urgent medical care |
| Cannot prescribe medication | Prescribes and adjusts medication |
Our standing promise
Many people need only one of the two. Some need both, working together. If what you need is a psychiatrist, we will tell you in the first session and refer you properly. Nobody gets kept in the wrong room.
Myth
Seeing a psychologist means something is seriously wrong with you, and people will find out.
Fact
The people in our waiting rooms are students before exams, professionals under pressure, parents decoding a child, and couples repairing a marriage. Consulting a psychologist early is the same decision as consulting a doctor early: management, not weakness. And nobody finds out, because confidentiality here is absolute. Nothing you say leaves the clinic.
What a Clinical Psychologist Actually Does
Formal assessment
Standardized testing that answers hard questions accurately: ADHD or not, autism or not, why school is failing a capable child. See our full psychological assessment in Islamabad service.
Evidence based therapy
Structured treatment, led by CBT therapy in Islamabad and supported by hypnotherapy, schema informed work, and behavioral methods, matched to the person rather than applied as a package.
Training and supervision
PRTS Clinic also trains and supervises psychologists. A clinic that teaches the discipline has to stay sharp in it, and that standard runs through every session we deliver.

A female psychologist, when that matters to you
Your First Visit: What Actually Happens
You arrive, and there is no drama to it. A short intake, a private room, and a clinician whose first job is to understand, not to label. The first session maps the concern, its history, and what you want back, and it ends with two things stated plainly: what we think is going on, and what we suggest doing about it.
If that suggestion is therapy, you will know the approach and the plan. If it is assessment, you will know which tests and why. If it is a referral elsewhere, you will hear that too, in the first hour, not the fifth session. Bring any previous reports if they exist, and bring your questions. First visits work best when both sides are honest.
The Cost of Waiting
Psychological difficulties are quiet borrowers. Untreated anxiety takes the sleep first, then the focus at work, then the patience at home. A child’s unaddressed learning difficulty compounds every academic year it goes unnamed. A marriage pattern practices itself into permanence.
None of this means panic, and all of it means the same thing: earlier is smaller.
The people who describe therapy as life changing are usually the ones who came before the problem finished growing.
